WA Bubbles for the Holidays!

Bubbles for all Occasions

Tis the season to celebrate and what better way to celebrate than with a bottle of bubbles, a glass of giggles! Popping the cork on a bottle of sparkling wine is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. Did you know there are approximately 15 million bubbles in each glass of sparkling wine! No matter if you are hosting a holiday party, giving a bottle as a holiday gift, or toasting in the New Year these three bottles will hit the spot.

Domaine Ste. Michelle Brut from Chateau Ste. Michelle is my go to bottle when hosting holiday parties. This traditional style Brut is dry and full of bubbles. Michelle is ideal for parties because at around $10 it won’t break the bank. Domaine Ste. Michelle Brut compliments salty savory appetizers such as a classic Artichoke dip, a favorite at holiday parties. This brut is also great for mixing, such as in my Classic Champagne cocktail.

Isenhower Cellars 2016 Blanc de Blanc Sparkling Roussanne makes a great gift. Roussanne is not typically used to make sparkling wines, but Isenhower Cellars made a batch as an experiment and it was an effervescent success. Upon popping the cork and pouring a glass, you will notice the tiny, delicate bubbles. Once the effervesce slows and you can take a sniff of the wine, you will be hit by a combination of yeasty baked bread aroma and an Asian pear crispness. Not many wineries in Washington make sparkling wine, when you find a great one, it’s worth sharing!
